Territorial fight for university and penitentiary shows regional efforts

In the months after Colorado had been established as a territory by Congress, communities in the new territory began fighting to be the location of the state university, penitentiary and state capital.

This photo shows "Old Main," the first building constructed at the University of Colorado campus in Boulder.
