Dust Bowl farmers resettled to West Slope

During the Great Depression, when the Dust Bowl was wreaking havoc with farms on the Great Plains,

the Roosevelt Administration developed a program to move farm families to more productive lands, including in Western Colorado.
The photo here shows one of those farmers working his new land near Loma, Colorado.
