Just before the turn of the century, the first automobile appeared in Denver, Colorado, but it was a few years later before they arrived in Western Colorado.
One of the earliest automobiles in Grand Junction was a 1904 Rambler Runabout. modified somewhat from this 1901 model, driven by its inventor, Chales T. Jeffrey.
