I'm scheduled to do a presentation for a number of local groups in the coming weeks, including next week to the Redlands Rotary Club. I'm calling this one "When Beaver were Boss." It is a comparison of the fur trade in the Rocky Mountains and in the Great Lakes, and it focuses on two men whom I've researched in great depth -- Antoine Robidoux in Colorado and Utah and Michel Cadotte at Lake Superior.
I'm not a great public speaker and presenter. I much prefer writing than public speaking. But I'm better that I was a few years ago. Stay tuned for more information about other upcoming presentations I have scheduled.
I should also mention that, for a number of reasons, my next history column for The Daily Sentinel isn't scheduled until Monday, July 26.
