High Plains Commerce, 1830s style

Judy and I traveled to Bent's Fort in Southeastern Colorado recently in our camper van. The weather was very pleasant for late June and we were quite comfortable.


The main point of the trip was to visit Bent's Fort, the early 1830s trading post on the Arkansas River, something we've wanted to do for decades. We did so, and thoroughly enjoyed immersing ourselves in that history. The column I wrote about it for The Daily Sentinel is linked below.
