In 1905, the Sundance Kid shot and killed a policeman in Antofagasta, Chile. This is a photo of Sundance with his girlfriend, Ethel Place, on the ranch in Argentina he shared with Butch Cassidy.
Butch is on the far left. Sundance and Ethel are standing by horses on the far right.
But he escaped punishment with the assistance of a U.S. diplomat with ties to Colorado. The link to my recent column in The Daily Sentinel is below.
